Copper is a very unique and important metal that is found in cooking appliances like pot and utensils. How do you clean copper? It is very simple; just make sure that you follow these instructions.
Copper Pots: To clean remove unwanted spots or tarnish from copper pots, simply take a lemon half, add salt to the top of the lemon, and scrub the infected area. The tarnish should come off easily. Try to avoid using copper pots to prepare foods such as salads, vinegar based meals, and any acidic fruits.
Copper Kettle: To clean a copper kettle you will need to remove soap scum and hard water deposits. Although a lightly corroded piece can be cleaned with salt and lemon or vinegar, steel wool is required for heavy-duty copper cleaning.
Copper utensils: To remove tarnish from copper based utensils, start by rinsing them in warm soapy water. If the tarnished has not been removed, try using a mixture of water, salt, vinegar, and flour. Take this mixture and rub the utensils. Then rinse them thoroughly and dry.
Removing Copper Tarnish: Copper tarnish can look ugly, and it will take away from the luster copper possess, so it is vital that you should use this technique to remove it. Take a small bowl and pour tomato paste a fair amount of tomato paste into, depending on the size of the job. Next apply the tomato paste to a soft cloth and rub the tarnished spot vigorously. The next step is to rinse the copper piece with clean warm water. After that dry the copper and buff it to a new shine.
