Investment Property and Carpet Cleaning

Personal investments are made in many different ways from stocks, CDs and bonds to new businesses, land and other Dallas area real estate investments. The most typical of real estate investments is the purchase of ones personal home, however there are other forms of investing with real estate such as rental property.

The purchase of a home as a rental, as well as multi-unit apartment complexes and office buildings, brings responsibility and a fair amount of monetary remuneration if taken care of properly with tenants, management and upkeep of the property. In order to maintain a top grade Dallas property that will be popular as a rental, and to keep it desirable, the owner and/or property manager is wise to constantly work at keeping it clean and presentable.

One important and never overlooked item is carpeting. Since a person will either be living in or working in the rental, or both, cleanliness of carpeting is, throughout ownership and tenant possession, required for presentation of a respectable and professional environment. When making the purchase of a home, multi-unit or office building as an investment the new buyer will perform a property inspection that details everything from the foundation and roof, paint and pool, landscaping and wiring to the carpet and flooring. If any issues are present the property inspector will alert the buyer to them in a report which will then be addressed by the buyer's real estate agent to the seller's agent. In most cases the seller will either repair and/or clean any issues or offer financial compensation in the form of a credit or payment at the close of escrow for the purchaser to perform the work after the transaction is complete.

When a new tenant is moving in certain standards exist in a ready to be rented home, unit or office such as fresh paint, a cleaning of the entire home or office and carpet cleaning and sanitization. Most property management companies have relationships with various local Dallas carpet cleaning companies and can hire them to perform any needed work before a property becomes rent ready, and many of the carpet cleaning companies will work with the owner or management company on special pricing if multiple units require cleaning or to be the exclusive carpet cleaners for the property. Many Dallas carpet cleaning companies also work with flooring and tile and can be consulted with for any work that needs to be done in regards to that type of cleaning and care.

An investment is exactly what it is, a business venture that will make you, the investor money through proper and educated decisions. Always remember when making an investment with real estate in the form of rental property to think about your tenants and what can be done to make them happy and keep them in your property, as a happy tenant generally is a long term tenant and when they see an owner and management company who cares for a property it helps to make them think they care about them as the tenant, too.

Cleaning the Green Way

There are now some wonderful eco-friendly alternatives to cleaning your bathroom rather than using the highly toxic chemical cleaners available from your local supermarket. And you'll even find that you can make your house sparkling clean and smelling beautiful and fresh with everyday ingredients and products that are sitting in your pantry.

I visited a friend's home the other day. We have known each other for years and get on wonderfully well, spending time going fishing or watching a ball game. We even started playing golf. We laugh a lot because we each manage to lose at least one golf ball every time.

So I went round to have a relaxing afternoon, share a drink and perhaps play some pool on his table downstairs. But when I got there, I found him looking a little frantic. He had forgotten that his boss was going to show up for dinner that night. He was happy I visited because, instead of billiards, he was able to get me to help with some chores while he made supper.

I wasn't pleased, but I decided that friends help each other out. So I headed for his bathroom to see if it needed cleaning. And did it ever! There's some places in the house where you're judged more than others, and the bathroom is certainly one of those. And I have to admit, I take a bit of pride in keeping mine in good working order.

I opened his cupboard and found the normal array of cleaning chemicals that he'd bought from the supermarket. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a green freak, but I figure if we all do a little we can help clean up the environment. And the chemicals are really dangerous if they are ever swallowed by children, or if they somehow get into the storm water system, perhaps if there is flooding or a burst main.

So I headed back into the kitchen and found all the ingredients I needed to clean his bathroom. Fresh club soda is an excellent stain remover and polisher. White vinegar kills fungus and germs and baking soda can be used to eliminate bad odors.

Armed with these I returned to the bathroom and, with a bit of elbow grease, I cleaned it in no time. Once I'd done that, I had a quick look at his plumbing and found that the shower wasn't flowing so well. He has a flow restrictor shower head, but even so, it should have been working a lot better. I got a brush and a darning needle and carefully cleaned the pin holes through which the water comes in the shower head. That's all it took, just a bit of a clean, and lo, he had fast flowing water again.

I'd also noted that the water didn't flow so well down the sink hole, so I poured one cup of baking soda and three cups of hot water down into the drain, and it was as good as new when I rinsed it out. It wasn't much of a blockage, but if you let things go, they can turn into much worse problems.

I then checked his taps and toilet weren't leaking, then cleaned the floor with a combination of liquid castile soap, white vinegar and warm water. And to give it that finishing touch, before I finished, I mixed club soda with one teaspoon of lemon juice and used it to clean the mirror.

Miele Vacuum Cleaners - A Brief Overview

Do you know what sets Miele vacuum cleaners apart from the rest of the flock? There may be numerous vacuum cleaner brands in the market, but Miele stands out from the rest. Miele as a long-popular consumer electronics brand is celestial. And that reputation is extended to the very efficient and well-trusted vacuum cleaners.

To begin with, Miele is a German consumer electronics maker. The company was founded in 1899. Initially, the first Miele products included tub washing machines, butter churns and cream separators. As a consumer goods manufacturer, Miele has the current reputation of being the first to use plastic as a raw material. Since its establishment, the trademark Miele has long been present in every modern household.

As years passed by, there have been many other consumer electronics products that were soon identified with Miele. Among them are cooker hoods, coffee systems, hobs and steam and speed ovens. Miele for its part was mostly identified as being a laundry appliances developer and producer. This image has made the brand identified with dishwashers and irons. Because the company apparently pursued offering household products, it soon emerged to sell vacuum cleaners.

The very first vacuum cleaner made by Miele was launched in Germany in the year 1927. The machine was among the first Miele electronic products that are made and housed in plastic materials then known as bakelite. Instantly, Miele vacuum cleaners became a sure-fire hit.

Through the years, many experts and doctors have been highly recommending investing in Miele vacuum cleaners. Why? That is because the equipments have been proven to help households get rid of germs and pathogens that mainly cause asthma and other forms of allergies. Now, that advantage of Miele vacuum cleaners are still very much identified with the brand.

Miele vacuum cleaners are popular. In the past, it has also been noted that the brand has been uniquely naming its major vacuum cleaner brands after celestial bodies. For example, the popular Miele vacuums are known as Luna, Sirius, Antares and Orion. The Red Star vacuum cleaner has been known to help eliminate presence of pet hair from cats and dogs.

The S147 vacuum is light weight and is very handy. This durable vacuum cleaner has an upholstery brush equipped with integrated felt lint brushes that are there for cleaning furniture and drapes. When it comes to total cleaning and sanitation of the household and establishments, no other brand can still get close to the reliability of Miele.

Dyson Vacuum Cleaners - An Overview of Dyson Vacuums

The invention of the vacuum cleaner has indeed changed the way cleaning should be done. Despite the emergence of several brands in the market today, Dyson vacuum cleaners remain to be on the top of many consumers' lists.

Most homes in developed countries such as United States and Britain have carpeted floors. To keep them clean, vacuum cleaners are used. These devices had been found to be very effective in cleaning carpets and in the process, improving the quality of indoor air. Vacuum cleaning is recommended to be done regularly to keep indoor contaminants like dirt, soil, and other debris at a minimum especially in high-traffic areas like entry ways and living rooms. In addition, vacuum cleaning is also very effective in killing both young and adult fleas that usually nest in carpeted surfaces.

Vacuum cleaners have been used since the 1800s. Through the years, the designs of these devices have greatly improved. Modern vacuum cleaners have air pumps that can create partial vacuum that can suck up dirt and other small particles from floors. These are collected by a filtering system so that they are disposed at a later time. Perhaps the best thing that happened to vacuum cleaners is the discovery and the use of the cyclone principle which became very popular in the 1990s. This cycle principle dwells on the creation of a high speed air-flow that rotates within a cylindrical container. This method removes air particles through vortex separation without using filters. In these vacuum cleaners, air follows a spiral pattern starting at the top of the cylindrical container to the bottom portion. British designer James Dyson pioneered the cyclone principle in his brand of vacuum cleaners in 1985. Within very little time, the Dyson vacuum cleaner became the most popular cleaner in the United Kingdom.

Dyson vacuum cleaners hold the distinction of being the first bagless vacuum cleaners in the market. Because these cleaners work without need for bags where vacuumed particles are to be stored, they come out as the cost-efficient alternative especially in the long-run. Another feature that sets Dyson cleaners apart from the rest is that it does not lose power when its dust cup fills unlike conventional vacuum cleaners. And if these features are not enough to convince you to use Dyson products, here's more. Dyson cleaners are certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America as asthma-friendly. This group certified that the air released by a Dyson cleaner contains less bacteria and mold than the normal air that people breathe.

Black Mold - A Home Risk Not to Miss

Though home exudes a sense of safety and security, there are still some things that can threaten its function of protecting you and your family. One specific example of those threats is black mold. It is a very great indoor risk that can bring a variety of danger both in structure and in health.

As one of the easily carried fungi, black mold can infest your home without you knowing it until it's already too late. True, it can grow in areas or items on which it can be easily seen. However, it can also grow in hidden locations to which it can quickly spread as nobody can interrupt it.

The simple fact that black mold can bring negative effects is already a good enough reason to pick up your pace and start a black mold cleaning process. If you need more than just that for a reason, well, you should know that it is also being considered as one of the most dangerous of all mold species. That means that it is being regarded as capable of producing the worst effects. And like what had been mentioned, it can grow hidden implying that it can inflict damage to you, your family and your home without giving you any chance to protect them or yourself.

Because of all those negative effects, it is but rational to say that black mold should not be missed. Why? Cause if you do miss it, you and your family will surely suffer from it.

So how do you not miss a huge home risk such as black mold? Well, there are but three steps. These three steps are simple yet they are sure to be of help. You should implement them if you want your home be freed from all of black mold's possible threats.

  • Educate Yourself - Knowledge is power to almost anything. Learn the symptoms of the infestation, know the locations or areas to which it often grows, be aware of the things that are encouraging its growth and be educated of all the possible steps to prevent its spread. With all those essential information, you can easily determine its presence and you will know how to deal with it.
  • Conduct Regular Inspection - Routinely check the items or areas to where black mold will most likely grow. This will have to be not just a look-on-the-surface inspection but have to be very thorough. Remember that, as a fungi, it can be hidden. Take the time to look under, within and through the items or locations. All your efforts will be paid off if you get to do your regular inspection the right way.
  • Fix Items and Tools and Regularly Clean - Keeping things properly working and clean will help prevent black mold infestation. In a way, this will also get black mold eliminated in its early stage dissolving its chance to cause any further damage.

Black mold is one of the most dangerous threats that could wreck havoc in your indoor environment. Take the time to implement some moves that will enable you not to miss it for your home to be a safe and healthy place to live.

Carpet Cleaning Can Relieve Allergies

People who suffer from allergies have many things to worry about in their environment. When they step out of the house they are typically inundated with many allergens that will vary with the season. This can lead to all sorts of miserable side effects such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and other such symptoms that can make day-to-day existence quite miserable. This is why it is very important that at a minimum an allergy sufferer is able to get some relief and comfort when they are at home.

Unfortunately, however, the home is not immune to the allergens that are out there in the environment. This is because homes are not perfectly insulated from these allergens. In addition, often when people and pets come in and out of the home, they often bring a great deal of allergens with them. Once in the home, these allergens will likely stay there and worsen the allergy sufferers symptoms.

Therefore, if you are suffering from allergies and you want to get better, you can't just take medication to relieve the suffering, you have to do something else. It is absolutely paramount that you clean your carpets on a regular basis. In this report, we will discuss household allergens, places they hide, why they hide in carpet, why vacuuming is rather ineffective for removing them and why it is important to use more comprehensive cleaning to remove these allergens and experience relief from symptoms. Are you ready? Let's get started.

First of all, we will discuss how a house's ventilation system works and the role it plays on allergens. In a house, the typical ventilation system circulates harmful particles around. This leads to an even coat of harmful particles that are penetrated when the system is in cooling (or heating) mode. All this blowing of allergens causes a variety of symptom to home dwellers with allergies.

In addition, many of these allergens tend to hide within carpets and other fabrics and removing them is vitally important. This is because carpet has material that is both soft and the fibers within carpet and the depth of the carpet make it the ideal resting spot for allergens such as dust and plant matter to gather. In addition, as humans, we shed skin that forms dust and such dust falls to the carpet as well. So, as you might guess, we also track in a great number of other allergens from the environment this means that carpet is teaming with such allergens ready to set off allergy symptoms. The ventilation system will further flow these allergens around. Therefore, if you don't clean your carpet you have an even coating of allergens throughout the carpeted areas.

Now that we understand this, we now explain why vacuuming doesn't work. Second, some people believe that vacuuming will be sufficient to get out such allergens but this couldn't be further from the truth. Vacuums tend to be efficient at removing the large pieces of debris from carpets but they are incredibly poor at removing the minute particles that make up the majority of allergens. In fact, they actually can make things worse by further spreading out the allergens and the allergens that get stuck to your vacuums cleaning surface can actually be moved to another room by your vacuum thus ensuring your whole home is an allergen zone.

So, if vacuuming does work so well for removing these allergens, what does work? Well, a solution does exist to this problem and it is called carpet cleaning. Not only does carpet cleaning manage to get stains out of your carpet but it also does an effective job at removing allergens. Wetting down the carpet and using detergent actually trap the allergens down via the first step of carpet cleaning. The subsequent step will easily sop up the allergens, as they will adhere to the soapsuds as good carpet cleaning soap has properties that attract the allergens to bond with the soap molecules. This will allow you to effectively remove most of the allergens from your home.

In conclusion, dust particles are harmful to everyone and so most people should clean their carpets thoroughly but if you suffer from allergies this is absolutely paramount to better health. By doing so, you can return your home to the sanctuary it should be instead of the allergen causing zone that makes your allergies worse. Good luck!

Home Neglect - What Can Happen?

The roof is twenty years old and rapidly deteriorating. The weeds are growing and the trees desperately need trimmed. And the backyard has always had terrible drainage. But, with the economy rapidly declining, spending money right now is a scary prospect. Waiting couldn't possibly hurt, right?

Wrong! Your house is your biggest investment, and more importantly, it is your home. This is where you are raising your family and making memories of a lifetime. Even if the market is in the shambles, neglecting your home is the biggest mistake you can make. Not only is pride of ownership and providing a nice, secure place for your family to live important, home neglect is far more costly than making the necessary repairs.

New roofs are expensive, but consider the cost of replacing all of your carpets and replacing many of your belongings should your roof fail to keep the rains out. Now, not only will you still need to replace the roof, you will also need to deal with the water damage caused by failing to act earlier. And, if you're thinking the insurance company will bail you out, think again. Insurance does not pay for water damage due to neglect. If a tornado blows off your roof, then yes, the insurance company will be involved. But if your roof leaks simply because you failed to maintain it, you're on your own.

What about those weeds and trees? Can you let those go? No. Overgrown trees can clog raingutters which can back up, diverting water into your home, perhaps where you can't see it. Next thing you know, you have an uninvited guest infiltrating your walls: mold. Weeds against the foundation can cause similar problems. Plus, when the weeds dry out, they become the perfect kindling for house fires. To make matters worse, rodents, such as mice and rats, may take up residence. They'll have a nice warm nest and easy access to your home where they'll raid your cabinets and chew your wires.

The poorly draining backyard is also a problem. Not only does standing water provide a breeding ground for pests such as mosquitoes, it can also seep into your basement, causing flooding or mold growth as well as undermine foundations. Cracked patios are ugly while cracked foundations are expensive to repair. Standing water against your home also leads to algae and mold growth. While exterior algae is unsightly, mold can grow inside your walls, quietly thriving while also contributing to inhabitants' respiratory ailments.

Maintaining your home is a part of home ownership and it should not be put off. If your roof needs to be replaced, no amount of denial is going to change that fact. Contact a reliable roofer and find out what's involved. If money is tight, less expensive options may be available. If your trees need trimmed, hire a tree company to trim them. If your backyard doesn't drain properly, call a landscaping company or hire a backhoe operator to regard the yard. Maintain your house now and you will avoid countless problems later.

The Thrifty Ways to Effectively Remove Mold

Nothing less than an effective mold removal is needed in every mold case. Unfortunately, it sometimes costs money. Because of this, there are those who make themselves content to mediocre ways of removing molds from clothes, items and surfaces.

However, implementing a mold treatment without making sure that it'll work will produce nothing but waste. Those wastes can be either in the form of money, time or energy. Worse is that the item or surface that is supposed to be saved will be further damaged or utterly destroyed.

Between the three mentioned things that can be wasted in an ineffective mold removal, the loss of money is the one of greatest impact. Of course, there are still so many things more important than coins and bills but then, saving them or getting the true value of them is definitely a relief especially in this time of worldwide economic crisis.

It's true that you can't get something out of nothing. Nevertheless, what's needed isn't always money. And with mold removal, you can get through it and make it effective without having too much to spend. How? By simply choosing the best mold removal there is.

As you might have already known, a mold removal product is an essential part of mold cleaning. However, mention it and others would automatically think that it will have to be purchased which means another spending. But then, that is not always the case as there are alternatives that can make mold removal still effective yet not that expensive. Those alternatives are following:

  • Lemon Juice - This can be mostly used on removing molds from clothes. All you have to do is to moisten it to the part of the fabric that was mold stained and spread salt over it. Then place the garment under the sun to dry. Right after that, rinse the garment and hang to dry again under the sun.
  • Vinegar - As an alternative, vinegar can be effectively used on wall mold removal. It can also do an excellent work in eliminating mold and mildew stain and smell on clothes. To remove molds from walls with vinegar, it will just have to be sprayed on the surface then followed by scrubbing after a few minutes. In clothing, it will just to be mixed with water where the garments will be soaked. Then the clothes will have to be completely dried before washing it regularly.
  • Salt - Salt is usually paired with lemon juice or vinegar to be of used in mold removal. It makes the use of those two more effective. Though its role appear to be small, the help it gives is actually great, directly on the thrifty mold cleaning and indirectly on the user's finances.

Sure, money is needed in removing molds. However, it doesn't have to be too much that it becomes a financial burden. With all the alternative mold removal products as lemon juice, vinegar and salt, eliminating molds can become effective yet inexpensive.

Make Your Own Efficient Black Mold Treatment

Black mold is one of the major threats faced by many householders these days. These flourish during hot summers due to increased humidity and in cold winters due to the moisture contained within. Therefore the need for a black mold treatment is of great importance. The first process involved in black mold treatment is to identify it and also to inspect the entire house for the presence. Spotting is not the only process as the more important one is to start with the treatment immediately before it spreads out.

You can make an effective black mold treatment right at your own house. Nothing could be as cheap, simple and at the same time effective as this one. Spray bottle is the basic requirement as you can easily get a good one from the nearby store. Ammonia is the major ingredient present in most of the window and black mold treatments you get from outside. But here, we make use of bleach and never ever try to mix it with any other cleaning solutions available outside as the chlorine gas released with the combination of ammonia and bleach can prove to be deadly! Therefore, never try to reuse old mold cleanser bottles as the presence of ammonia will be still present. So never take chances!

Into the new spray bottle add half cup of beach along with half a gallon water to dilute it. Stir gently to mix both the ingredients well. Here you have your black mold treatment made by you in your new spray bottle which can be stored for several months. All that has to be done is to swirl the bottle slightly each time you take it so as to ensure that the bleach gets diluted properly.

The only drawback with this homemade black mold treatment is that it cannot be used on all surfaces like paint, paper, fabric, wallpaper etc as it is bleach based. In such cases, you can make use of vinegar stored in spray bottles as these can help you ensure better black mold treatment on other areas. You can find this particular black mold treatment working in the perfect way on certain plastics, unfinished woods and even on concrete.

How to Clean a Stone Fireplace

Stone Fireplace fronts: Before you start to clean your fireplace front, make sure that you lay newspaper or paper towels around the area. There is a very good chance that this will be messy. While cleaning the front, it is very important to start by soaking the stone in an all-purpose cleaner. This will allow the soap to penetrate the soot. Next use a softer brass brush to scrub the soot areas. You may need to add more cleanly as you go along, so a bucket is necessary. Scrub hard, but not hard enough to disturb the grout holding the stones in place. After you have finished scrubbing the soot, rinse and wipe down the area to ensure you do not leave a soapy residue. For tougher stains, it is recommended that you use a stone-cleaning chemical in minimal amounts.

Another method is by vacuuming or sweeping the entire fireplace and surrounding affected area out. It is very important to have the vacuum head about 1/2 inch from surface to avoid scratching. It is recommended to wear old clothes, rubber gloves, a baseball cap, a disposable paper dust mask, and safety goggles during this process, especially when removing any loose particles. Most importantly never start wiping down or rubbing this type of soil off with rags, or a black paste will smear and spread beyond your wildest imagination. Again be sure to place newspapers under affected surfaces during this process so excess soot can fall on it and be disposed of easily.

A third method, the simplest of the three, is to sprinkle salt on the affected area. Allow the salt to sit for at least 15 minutes. The salt will dig deep and losing some of the soot. Finish up this job by vacuuming the area, again with the vacuum head raised to avoid scratching.

How to Clean Silver Material

Cleaning silver is a very simple but there is a process that has to be followed. Start by separating silver from objects in your sink that may scratch it. Silver is very soft, and can be scratched or damaged by light contact with other metals. Do not wear rubber gloves in this process, rubber surprisingly corrodes the metal.

It is recommended to start by rinsing your pieces in warm water (baby bath temperature) to rinse away any surface gunk that may cause more problems in the cleaning process. A great household item to use while cleaning is toothpaste (plain white). Take a SOFT damp cloth and apply toothpaste to it. Then gently rub the toothpaste on the piece in back and forth motion, just like you were if you were painting. Once the rag becomes black with tarnish, apply more toothpaste to the rag and continue cleaning. Once you have completed cleaning, rinse the item thoroughly with warm water and then with a soft clean cloth dry your item. To preserve the cleaning you have completed, store the silver correctly. It is very important that you dry the item completely, wrap in a soft tissue, and do not place the object in a moisture prone environment.

If the above methods did not work, an alternative method is to put a pan on your stove and line it with aluminum foil. Next place your piece in the pan and add enough water to completely cover the piece of metal you want to clean. Next add baking soda, turn your stove on, and wait for the water to boil. The amount of baking soda will vary with the amount of water, for smaller items, a couple of teaspoons will be ok. After the water has boiled, use tongs to periodically check on the process of your silver. Once you are satisfied with your cleaning, rinse the object and dry immediately with a soft cloth.

How to Clean Chrome

Chrome: The best way to keep chrome fixtures or appliances clean is to maintain them regularly. It is very easy to damage chrome, so it is very important to clean it properly to maintain its shiny appearance.

For chrome objects around the kitchen such as pots and pans, it is recommended that you wash them in warm sudsy water immediately after use. This is a key step because grease builds and may burn the pan the next time you use them. For grease stains try using vinegar that has not been diluted. First take a soft cloth and dip it into the vinegar then carefully wipe the infected area. After you have completed this step, rinse and dry the pot or pan.

For other appliances found in your kitchen such as faucets, microwaves, or any with chrome trim, it recommended to use baby oil. Take a clean soft cloth and apply the baby oil. Then gently rub the stain until it has disappeared. For smaller jobs or areas that are hard to reach simply take a cue tip dip that has been dipped into baby oil. Always apply the oil to the cloth that you are using. This will avoid creating any unwanted messes.

To maintain chrome outside of your home, such as car bumpers, rims, or golf clubs, it is very simple. For car bumpers and golf clubs, it is recommended to use aluminum foil. Gently, using the shiny side of the foil, wipe the infected area. The rust stains should start to fade or disappear completely depending on the severity of the stain. For car rims, you will need a hose, a bucket filled with soapy water, sponge, and wax if you have it. Start by taking your hose and rising off the rims. Following step one, dip your sponge in the soapy water and fiercely scrub the rims, you should start to see the gunk disappear. After you have completed all four wheels, repeat step one by rinsing them off again. Take a dry rag and wipe down our rims. After this step, take car wax and rub them into the rim. This will give your rims protection from water damage.

The first thing that we have to do to brighten your home is to get rid of clutter. This is a build up of items that you have no room for. This causes a heaviness on your home on your spirit being, a built up of dust which affects your physical being. These items might be furniture, clothing, papers, kitchen or bathroom accessories and more.

You will have to prepare yourself to discard items you don't need, which means that if you have not used that item in the past 6-12 months it can be stored, given away or discarded. You can also donate to Salvation Army. If you are not willing to let go of those unnecessary items then this process will not work, but if you are, choose a room or an area to start.

Which ever room you choose to start, begin at one end and go into a circle, this will help you to be more organized and you won't forget where you start and where you end. You will find as you start discarding how light that area gets and good you start you will feel.

When you are done discarding items in that room or area, start with dusting of the walls and webs and again begin at one end of the room into a circle. Using the same circle process, dust the furniture and if you choose, re-organizing of the furniture can give the room a new look. Depending on your mood add or subtract accessories to enhance the beauty of the room. By the time you complete that area I guarantee you will have a smile of satisfaction on your face, but remember you will need to maintain it for it to stay constant.

The Best Carpet Cleaning Companies in Houston

If you own a home in Houston, you're in luck. Houston has some really great companies to clean your carpets for you. Since your carpets are so important to the look of your home as well as your overall health and well-being, it's good to be able to hire companies that you already know offer quality cleaning services. While some carpet cleaning companies in Houston are better than others, the three you're going to read about in the following paragraphs are the cream of the crop.

Genesis Dry Carpet Cleaning

Although not everyone is aware of it, carpets can be dry cleaned. Genesis Carpet Cleaning of Houston is one of the best carpet dry cleaners in the country. They promise customer satisfaction, and they really deliver. They also have good promotional offers which keep customers coming back. For instance, if you have them clean the carpets in three rooms, they'll clean a fourth room for free.

Another great freebie they have to offer is a referral fee. Every time you refer a friend to them, and the friend makes use of their services, you'll get paid. They do such a great job that you'll be happy to refer all your friends to them, and you can get a little bonus on the side. Genesis is family-owned business, and they are proud of what they do. They use a truck-mounted carpet cleaning system which means that when they leave they'll take all the dirt from your carpets away with them.

Queen's Carpet Care Company

Queen's Carpet Care Company has been in business since 1980, so you can tell they are great, or they wouldn't have been around so long. Their promise is quality work and customer satisfaction, and they make good on it.

The IIRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification) has accredited the Queen's company which means it's one of the best businesses in the carpet cleaning industry. Not only does Queen's clean carpets, but they also clean upholstery and repair, restore, and stretch carpets. When Queen's Carpet Care Company leaves your home, your carpets will look the best they've looked since they were brand new.

Cityclean

Another really good carpet cleaning company with almost 20 years of experience is Cityclean. Their well-trained staff cleans carpets, upholstery, draperies, as well as air ducts. This residential and commercial carpet cleaning company is certified, so you know they're very good at what they do.

Cityclean uses the latest in cleaning technology and techniques to clean your carpets. They offer very competitive pricing which makes them a great choice for companies with a lot of carpeting to keep clean. Quality cleaning at affordable prices has made them one of the premier companies in the Houston area.

By looking in your yellow pages or online, you'll be able to find other carpet cleaning companies in the Houston area. However, if you want companies that have a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction, you can't go wrong with Genesis, Queen's or Cityclean.

If you are in the Houston area and are looking for a carpet cleaning company, make sure that you get the most trusted in the industry with track records that prove their worth as a business and as people who believe in customer satisfaction.

Cleaning Tips to Improve Your Life

I am always looking for good tips or tricks, and cleaning tips are no exception. There are actually people that enjoy cleaning. Some of my best friends are cleaners, and maybe you know some of these people as well. For the rest of us, however, the thought of spending all day or weekend cleaning our houses does not bring us joy. We can think of LOTS of other things to occupy our time, and often do...procrastinating about it until the task at hand becomes overwhelming.

We all like to find ways to make our lives easier, to find a new way of doing something or a new way of thinking about things. So it is with cleaning also. For those of us that do not enjoy cleaning, it is helpful to have a few cleaning tips to make our lives just a little bit easier.

There are two cleaning tips that I like to teach people. They really are the foundation for fast and efficient cleaning, and if you apply them to your chores you will spend less time cleaning and have more "fun" doing it. Ok, so maybe fun is the wrong word...but you won't completely dread cleaning!

Tip - Eliminate Clutter. At the very least having a messy, untidy house or workspace is the first impediment to an efficient cleaning program, but there is more to it than that. Excessive clutter prevents us from even getting started, seeing a bunch of books pile to the ceiling or papers strewn all over the house has a demoralizing affect on us. In contrast, if our space is neat and orderly our attitude is much more positive and we are more willing to tackle our cleaning tasks.

If your house looks like a bomb went off in it, spend some time un-cluttering before you begin cleaning. Pick up and put away those clothes, deal with the paper monster...throw away the junk mail, file important documents, recycle! Once you have your stuff in order you can turn your attention to the cleaning.

Tip - Top to Bottom & Left to Right. Even professional cleaning organizations get this one wrong. I have hired professional cleaning services in the past and was amazed out how INEFFICIENTLY they worked. Maybe this is slowing down your cleaning efforts as well, and making the chore tougher than it needs to be.

Clean from the top of the room to the bottom...from the ceiling to the floor, and from left to right. Following such a process will ensure that you are not duplicating efforts and that nothing is missed.

Whether you like to clean or not, if you apply these cleaning tips you will improve your life by making the cleaning task easier and cutting the time it takes in half.

How to Clean Bronze

Bronze: Bronze, a copper-alloy, is very vulnerable to losing its luster, but it simple to clean with household products. Start by taking the item and rinsing it. After you have rinsed off unwanted gunk, dry the item thoroughly. Then place baking soda, around two tablespoons, into a tiny dish, and add a small amount of lemon juice. Don't be alarmed by the tiny bubbles this reaction may create, they will go down. Take clean cloth and apply the paste to your object. This step can also be done by wearing rubber gloves and coating your object. Leave the paste on the object for approximately 20-30 minutes. After the time has elapsed, rinse the object in warm water, and immediately buff it dry. If unwanted spots still remain, repeat this process. To keep your bronze from losing its unique luster, rinse or dust the object.

If you did not like this method or you do not have the materials do perform this task, here is a different method. If there is grime on the surface of the object, it can be removed with soap and water, but may not be as effective as the method above. Plain soap and water will work well. Do not use hard water. Instead, use distilled water to clean the bronze item.

Another easy method to clean bronze is to make a paste from one teaspoon salt and one cup of vinegar mixed with water. Be sure to apply this paste evenly to the bronze item. Leave the paste on for about an hour. It is suggested to place newspaper around the area, this process maybe become messy. Rinse off with warm water. Polish it dry with a soft clean cloth. It is very important to use a clean cloth, a dirty cloth may contain chemicals or particles that will could scratch or even corrode the bronze.

How to Clean Copper Materials

Copper is a very unique and important metal that is found in cooking appliances like pot and utensils. How do you clean copper? It is very simple; just make sure that you follow these instructions.

Copper Pots: To clean remove unwanted spots or tarnish from copper pots, simply take a lemon half, add salt to the top of the lemon, and scrub the infected area. The tarnish should come off easily. Try to avoid using copper pots to prepare foods such as salads, vinegar based meals, and any acidic fruits.

Copper Kettle: To clean a copper kettle you will need to remove soap scum and hard water deposits. Although a lightly corroded piece can be cleaned with salt and lemon or vinegar, steel wool is required for heavy-duty copper cleaning.

Copper utensils: To remove tarnish from copper based utensils, start by rinsing them in warm soapy water. If the tarnished has not been removed, try using a mixture of water, salt, vinegar, and flour. Take this mixture and rub the utensils. Then rinse them thoroughly and dry.

Removing Copper Tarnish: Copper tarnish can look ugly, and it will take away from the luster copper possess, so it is vital that you should use this technique to remove it. Take a small bowl and pour tomato paste a fair amount of tomato paste into, depending on the size of the job. Next apply the tomato paste to a soft cloth and rub the tarnished spot vigorously. The next step is to rinse the copper piece with clean warm water. After that dry the copper and buff it to a new shine.

How to Clean Marble Flooring

As marble floor becomes more popular in kitchens and bathrooms, it becomes extremely vulnerable to develop unwanted dirt and grime. There are many techniques to keeping your beautiful tiles the way they should be. The first step to maintain marble floors is very simple, place floor mats at each entrance to keep dirt from even entering any part of your home.

Also another simple way to clean marble is to sweep or vacuum three times a week. Another great way to clean up spills on a marble floor is always use hot water and dry immediately. Immediately drying the marble is one of the most important things a homeowner can do. It is possible that moisture may wear away at the grout and create mold underneath the marble. For tough stains on a marble floor pour a small amount of vinegar into water. This vinegar must be diluted. After you have removed the stain, take a dry clean cloth and wipe down the newly cleaned area. Diluting the vinegar is very important to this cleaning process. Vinegar is very acidic and used in its purest form it may wear away at the marble. If you maintain your marble floors at least 3 days week with a simple sweep the life span of these expensive floors will greatly improve. Also it is also a great idea to refinish your floor with wax, this will give the floor the shine marble flooring deserves.

To prevent your floor from scratches and spills, organize the room properly. The first step is to place furniture on carpets, rugs, or felt pads. In addition to this, it will make furniture easier and safer to move. It is also good to let carpets or rugs to take most of the spills because anything acidic will ruin the marble flooring, even if your floor is waxed.
